Cooperation between DFL & VFF
The German Football League (DFL) and the Vietnamese Football Association VFF are implementing a first project as part of their recently started cooperation: The Vietnamese U17 national team will be visiting Germany in the next five weeks and will train with the junior teams of several Bundesliga clubs during this period as well as test matches against these teams. The participating clubs are Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, 1. FC Köln and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
According to the DFL, the four clubs have developed a joint training plan. Not only the Vietnamese junior internationals should benefit from the trip to Germany, but also their coaches. “We hope that this project will give young players the opportunity to gain a lot of experience in a developed football scene like the Bundesliga. At the same time, we hope that the program will take place every year, giving young players the opportunity to build their own careers and form the core of the youth and national teams of the future,” VFF General Secretary Le Hoai Anh was quoted as saying. Most recently, the Vietnamese Football Association and the DFL signed a memorandum of understanding to promote football in the Southeast Asian country.
