Coop donates two AEDs to the foundation in Ruinerwold

The Coop in Ruinerwold, which is currently being converted into a Plus supermarket, donated two AEDs to the AED Ruinerwold eo Foundation. They are intended for resuscitation civilian aid workers in the villages of Ruinerwold, Oosteinde and Berghuizen.

The trigger for donating the two AEDs was the registration as a charity for the deposit campaign. The proceeds from this will be used to pay for the maintenance of the AEDs and to be able to offer CPR & AED training to civilian aid workers free of charge.

Sienette van het Hof, chairman of the foundation, was therefore pleasantly surprised that the message came that COOP was going to donate two AEDs. “I honestly thought it was a mistake because we had applied for the deposit action and it was granted. That must be a mistake.” So not, because in addition to the deposit action, the foundation received two AEDs last week. These get a good place somewhere on an outside wall in the Ruinerwold area, Oosteinde Berghuizen. In the villages themselves, there is an AED for resuscitation deployment within a radius of 2 kilometers. In the outer areas there may still be so-called white spots. “There may still be wishes/initiatives in neighborhoods for installing an AED. The foundation would like to get in touch with the initiators from these villages. The AEDs deserve a good location,” said Sienette van het Hof.
