Coolblue is therefore the second company after Randstad to report the mouth cap affair. According to Coolblue’s lawyer, Sabine Pijl, the company cooperated selflessly with the Auxiliary Troops Alliance, because it was always assured that it was a non-profit initiative for healthcare. ,,That was also a strict condition of the company”, says Pijl. “If Coolblue had known that the gentlemen also traded commercially, the collaboration would never have come about.”
The company helped, among other things, with the construction of the webshop and the order processing of the Auxiliary Troops Alliance. According to Coolblue, the trust has been abused and wants to ask for the money back.
Bernd Damme says in a response to the newspaper that the accusation of fraud is ‘utter nonsense’ and that they had informed Coolblue CEO Pieter Zwart about their commercial activities. Van Lienden and Van Gestel did not respond to a request for comment.
