COO John Galantic says goodbye after 16 years

The fashion house Chanel Inc. will have to do without a defining leader in the future. President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) John Galantic will leave the company at the end of June, Chanel confirmed on Tuesday at FashionUnited’s request. The trade magazine Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) had previously reported on the manager’s impending departure.

Galantic, who has held his current post for 16 years and has also headed digital operations since 2017, has decided to pursue career opportunities outside of the company, the fashion house said in a statement. Under his leadership, Chanel has grown and become more profitable in all areas by strengthening its own sales force, according to a statement. In addition, Galantic promoted the sustainability efforts and social initiatives of the fashion house.
