Exactly a week later the same man appeared again in the Bredene swimming pool. He was then filmed by the surveillance cameras, but later did not return to the pool. Under these circumstances, an investigation notice was distributed by the police at the end of October at the request of the Bruges public prosecutor’s office.
The investigation report provided a breakthrough when Ronny D. voluntarily presented himself to the police together with his lawyer Mathieu Langerock on October 31. After questioning, he was arrested by the investigating judge on suspicion of violating sexual integrity. The Bruges native admitted that he was present in the swimming pool, but it is unclear whether he made any confessions. The defense can only say that D. is cooperating well with the investigation.
