Convicted rap artist Kerza performed for minors in Tampere

According to the venue’s managing director, there has been no criticism of the artist connected to a street gang performing for minors.

Kerza is a rap artist born in 2002 who has released albums and collaborated with, among others, Cledos, 1. Cuz and William. Joonas Alanne

Rap artist Kerza, who was last accused of violent crimes in November, held an age-restricted gig in Tampere over the weekend.

The gig held at the Fame Club nightclub was sold out. CEO of Fame Club Riku Pesonen says that 100 tickets were added to the ticket sales last Thursday, which were sold out in less than an hour.

A total of 500 tickets were sold for the gig.

According to the CEO, the initiative to hold a gig with no age limit came from young people. The company received numerous requests for an age-restricted gig after Kerza’s adult-oriented gig at a nightclub for the same day was announced.

According to Pesonen, there has been no criticism of the artist connected to the L-City street gang performing for minors.

– On the contrary, we want more tickets. People have been upset if they haven’t gotten tickets, Pesonen said on Friday before the gig on Saturday.

“This is charity”

In 2021, Kerza, or Kerim Muslah, was sentenced to three years and four months in prison for attempted murder. Muslah stabbed a member of the 47 or Kurdish Mafia gang from eastern Helsinki in Itäkeskus, Helsinki.

He was last in court in November on four suspected counts of attempted murder and a firearms offence.

Muslah did not want to comment on the matter during police interrogations or in court, but he denied the charges. All charges against Muslah were dropped in court. The judgment is not binding.

Pesonen does not comment on the rap artist’s previous criminal conviction or possible involvement in a street gang, but says that he is an artist who does his job.

Kerza has performed at Fame Club twice before at the K18 gig, and neither time, according to Pesonen, there was any disorder.

– Kerza has also come forward in everything himself. He also contributes to the gig expenses so that the young people get the gig they want. This is not a business for anyone, this is charity, Pesonen says about the weekend gig.

Part of the box office proceeds was donated to Mieli ry through DJ Nuorinassari, who performed at the gig.

Alcohol-free event

According to Pesonen, the event was alcohol-free and there were more security guards than necessary to make the gig safe and suitable for minors.

In addition, the ticket included a mandatory lanyard and everyone underwent a security check. According to Pesonen’s information, there were no disturbances at the gig.

The ageless gig ended a couple of hours before the opening of the nightclub.

Fame Club has previously organized one age-restricted gig. Last November, a rap artist performed for young people in the night club premises Korelon.

– Events must also be organized for young people. Tampere doesn’t really have youth gigs because they aren’t profitable. An artist must be well received to be able to organize a gig with no age limit, and the request must come from the customers, says Pesonen.
