Controversial fundraising for officer who shot Nahel dead last night halted, family boy files complaint

The family of Nahel, the 17-year-old who was shot dead by a police officer during a traffic check, has filed a complaint against the initiator of the fundraising campaign for the French police officer. The action, which raised more than 1.5 million euros, divides the country to the bone. Initiator Jean Messiha, the former spokesman for the far-right presidential candidate Eric Zemmour, in turn stopped the collection around midnight.
