Prague (AP) – Jaroslav Silhavy remains Czech national football coach.
His contract has been extended until the end of the qualification phase for the European Football Championship in Germany 2024, as the national association FACR announced in Prague on Monday. Should the Czech Republic secure participation, the contract will automatically apply until the last European Championship game.
Silhavy has been the coach of the team with the Czech lion on their jersey for three and a half years. “I don’t think I have to be ashamed of the results,” said the 60-year-old. He had recently come under pressure after Sweden beat the Czech Republic 1-0 in the semifinals of the playoffs in the fight for World Cup participation.
