Contract extended: Kevin Ehlers goes to the 3rd division with Dynamo Dresden

Dynamo contract extended

Kevin Ehlers will stay with Dynamo Dresden beyond the summer. After relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga, the Saxons officially bid farewell to the 21-year-old central defender together with 16 other professionals at the end of May – about three weeks later he extended his expiring contract until June 30, 2024.

“Kevin Ehlers is a boy from our ranks who fully identifies with the SGD. We are very happy to be able to continue on our common path with him. ‘Ehle’ had achieved outstanding performances in the promotion season in the 3rd division – in the last second division series he was not able to call up his qualities to the extent that we had wished due to various issues. Now we’re tackling the new season with a lot of energy and we’re very happy that Kevin Ehlers, with all his strengths, has opted for black and yellow so that we can achieve our goals together,” said sporting director Ralf Becker.

Ehlers joined Dynamo’s U17s in 2017 and made the leap to pro in 2019. In the past season, he was only on the field for nine competitive games due to injury. With a market value of 700,000 euros, the right-footed stand is now one of the three most valuable professionals who will go to the third division with the club.
