Consumers can save up to 120 euros per year by comparing mobile communications prices | Economy

People can save up to 120 euros annually on their mobile telecommunications bill if they compare their mobile rate plan with other offers. This is evident from a study by the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT).

The telecom watchdog has examined mobile offers on the Belgian market in a new study. BIPT notes that these offers are constantly evolving. Reference is made to increases in data volume and the arrival of new formulas at cheaper prices.

“The mobile market is becoming more competitive,” is the conclusion. “Consumers have a wider range to choose from, whether their needs are low or very high.”

Customers can also benefit from this by comparing all available offers. With heavy mobile use, the largest possible maximum annual saving is even 120 euros when switching operators. BIPT refers to its web tool bestrate.bewhich should help consumers compare the different offers.

The telecom watchdog also notes that the amount of mobile data that is included in the flat rate has increased significantly. Moreover, this development has not led to a huge increase in costs for consumers. At the same time, BIPT emphasizes “that offers with at least 50 GB do not necessarily meet the real needs of consumers. There are cheaper offers that better protect the budget.”
