Construction of a new wing of the fishing museum has started

The new wing will be located along Vrijheidstraat and will connect to the existing museum site. Koksijde provides more than four million euros for the project, although the final invoice will probably be higher. The showpiece will be the skeleton of the sperm whale Valentijn, which washed up on the beach of Sint-André in 1989. The new wing should open in September 2024.
