Consensual separation confirmed: VfL Wolfsburg and Kruse terminate the contract

“Open and Honest Conversations”

From now on, VfL Wolfsburg and Max Kruse will go their separate ways. The Bundesliga club and the 34-year-old offensive player have “mutually” agreed to immediately terminate the contract, which runs until 2023. Kruse was last left out after being sorted out, under coach Niko Kovac the ex-national player no longer played a role.

“In open and honest discussions, we agreed that this solution is best for everyone involved. We wish Max all the best for the future,” said Wolfsburg’s sporting director Marcel Schäfer.

Because: My career is definitely not over yet.” The veteran was back in rehabilitation training after tearing a muscle fiber. He previously made headlines by playing in a poker tournament and doing other things off the court.

Kruse after the end at VfL Wolfsburg: new goal still open

Kruse’s new employer is not yet known. “Where and how and whatever happens, I have no idea,” said the attacker, who is said to be able to imagine Major League Soccer in the future. Steven Cherundolo, coach of the champions Los Angeles FC, made it clear in a “Bild” interview at the beginning of November that Kruse is out of reach for his club: “Max is not an issue for LAFC in this transfer window. It’s not feasible.”

Since then he has contributed to eight goals in 19 games – including his first term at VfL 2015/16, Kruse scored 16 goals in 62 games for Wolfsburg and prepared another 13.
