PARIS – In France, which is constantly battling forest fires this dry and hot summer, some large fires have been contained. In the western department of Maine-et-Loire, firefighters were able to bring two fires under control that broke out on Monday. Vigilance remains advised: the fires can easily flare up due to heat, wind and very dry air, the authorities emphasize.
