You will have noticed that on a daily basis we carry out different activities, some we do consciously, connected to the present moment, and others on autopilot. The mind has the habit of traveling to the future and the past, losing ourselves in the here and now.
As Eckhart Tolle says: “When you bathe, you think about breakfast; when you have breakfast, you think about work; at work, you think about the exit; leaving, you think about getting home; Being at home, you think about tomorrow. Today you have not been in the present, today you have not lived in the now. “You are missing out on life itself.”
Do you feel identified with this? Does it happen to you? It happens to us, and it continues to happen to us, but less frequently. We found a beautiful tool that makes us slow down the mind and the constant chatter that disperses us, which in turn can degenerate into anxiety. We are always with thoughts, but by practicing meditation, we slow them down.
Meditation as a daily practice can make it easier for us to be in the present moment, giving the mind a rest, an active rest. It’s not going to sleep (which just so you know, your mind is still working). Meditating is consciously telling your mind “you have a vacation for a few minutes.” Some call it disconnecting, others connect, we see it in both ways since you would be disconnecting from the external factors that divert us from our interior, from the constant thoughts that your mind has; and at the same time connecting with your body and what happens inside you.
To meditate, there are many ways, in principle we suggest that you find a comfortable place to stay for a few minutes, where you will not be interrupted or distracted. A simple and practical way that we use is based on the idea that the teacher Sri Sri Ravi Shankar gives us: letting go and allowing thoughts to come and go without resistance, as if they were clouds that pass over the sky and continue their course. . If you try to eliminate them because you don’t like them, more will stay; If you want them to stay because they’re nice, you’ll be distracted and won’t allow yourself to give your mind the rest it needs.
If you are interested in the topic of meditation and being more in the present moment, you can contact us and we will gladly guide you on this path. We encourage you to connect with your own Wi-Fi, as only you have the key to enter your interior.
