Mayor Monique de Boer has decided this after the resident threatened to set fire to the house on Pastoor de Eerensstraat last weekend.

The resident has been causing serious nuisance to the neighborhood for a long time. In the night from Saturday to Sunday, that reached a low point when the man threatened to set his home on fire. In the middle of the night, around 3:30 am, the fire brigade was summoned. The report to the emergency services stated that the gas tap of the house had been turned on, although it is not clear whether that was actually the case.

“I am seriously concerned about the health and safety of the local residents. That is why I am closing the house. I want to contribute in this way to the return of peace to the neighborhood,” says De Boer about her decision.
The resident has found shelter elsewhere, the municipality informs L1. “To the extent necessary, healthcare authorities are involved. It was not necessary for the municipality to mediate in this,” a spokesperson said.
