Can’t get a cup of coffee at ghost airport yet
While Schiphol produces chaos day after day, a completely new airport is ready at Lelystad in the Flevopolder. Fussing at ministries, hassle about permits and political games in the coalition has delayed the decision whether Lelystad Airport will open by two years. Will a plane finally land in 2024? That is uncertain because of the still missing nature permit and the threat of lawsuits. The opening has now been postponed six times and only the municipality of Lelystad itself seems to be confident that it will ever happen.
