Patrick Peire was born on August 6, 1946 in Bruges. He was a well-known conductor, choir leader and music teacher.
He is best known as a conductor of Het Collegium Instrumentale Brugense. For many years (until 2006 under his leadership), this ensemble held 30 to 40 concerts at home and abroad every year. Peire also took over the West Flemish Vocaal Ensemble and renamed it Capella Brugensis. From 1986 to 1994, Peire was also conductor of the New Flemish Symphony Orchestra.
