Cupido hit the sprinter on the route between Hoorn and Hoofddorp last October. At least: as far as conductor Jan is concerned. During his work, he met a Hilversum lady who, four months later, still deeply impresses him. However, without having exchanged contact details, the lady got out, and that was the last time Jan saw her. He therefore makes a call to find her.
Jan meets the Hilversum woman in mid-October. The 61-year-old conductor’s heart soon beats faster after the two start talking. “I had a really nice conversation with her and I was very attracted to her. The way she talked, the way she laughed and the way she looked,” he says.
At that moment, the Hilversum woman returns with two friends from a visit to the exhibition ‘High Skies’ in the Westfries Museum in Hoorn. The four start talking to each other and when the two friends have stepped out, the conversation between the unknown woman and Jan continues.
“I didn’t think it was professional to ask about her private situation”
“I sat down with her for a while,” Jan explains. “The conversation was about everything. Motorcycling, her mother in Mijdrecht. She travels a lot by train.” He doesn’t know much about her: she lives in Hilversum and her mother lives in Mijdrecht. Jan does not want to ask about that at that moment either. “I find it very difficult to estimate her age. And because I was working, I didn’t think it was professional to ask about her private situation or personal things.”
call
Nevertheless, Jan makes one last attempt when the Hilversum woman gets out. “When I got off the train I said that I really enjoyed meeting her. She thought so too. Anyway, that was it and I still keep thinking about her.”
After a first call-up on the radio program ‘Address unknown’, Jan received so much media attention that he prefers to keep this new attempt a little more under wraps. Do you know or are you the lady in question? Then you can contact NH News via [email protected]
