After a two-year pandemic break, it’s that time again: The Wacken Open Air is back, from August 4th to 6th only the hardest of hard music will be played in Schleswig-Holstein. Tickets are no longer available, but there will be a live stream at Magenta TV and free with MagentaMusik. So you can also be there from home.
In addition to the usual program, the highlights of the additional day “Wacken Wednesday” on August 3rd will also be streamed. Featuring metal opera project Avantasia, Dutch metal giants Epica and power metal group Gloryhammer, among others.
In total, transmissions from five stages are waiting. Bands such as Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Judas Priest and Thundermother perform as headliners. Powerwolf lead the program as a German act: Metal from Saarbrücken. All information about the line-up here.
Happy to get going again
“All those involved, whether fans, bands or crews, have a long dry spell behind them,” says the official side. Now one is “overjoyed” that it is “back to the field after all the waiting”. The festival started in 1990 with 800 visitors, meanwhile 75,000 fans come to Wacken every year.
