We’ll be hearing from Fleetwood Mac again soon: the band has announced a new live album. It will be called Rumors Live and will include a concert recording from the 1977 tour of the same name. The band around Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood gives a first taste with a version of the hit “Dreams”.
Without a doubt, the album “Rumours” is considered THE classic by Fleetwood Mac. The work climbed to number one on the US Billboard charts immediately after its release in February 1977, and songs like “Go Your Own Way” or “The Chain” became an integral part of pop culture. Even decades later, these songs were found on the soundtracks of films such as “Forrest Gump” or “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”. The release of Fleetwood Mac’s live recording of the album’s tour at the time will soon prove how timeless their music is.
Rumors Live was recorded during an August 1977 performance at The Forum in Los Angeles. Fleetwood Mac’s recording engineer, Ken Caillat, oversaw the recording at the time to ensure the band’s sound was exactly as it was in the studio. He even used the same equipment to some extent.
Fans should be particularly happy about this announcement. After the death of co-singer/songwriter Christine McVie, Mick Fleetwood revealed the band could never get back together without her.
