The wooden dome in the Governor’s Garden dates from 2005. The artistic structure was designed by Hanshan Roebers. Title of the artwork is Medea’s stage. The maintenance would be in the hands of an engineering firm.
Rengers has now asked written questions to the mayor and aldermen about the poor condition of the music dome. He wants to know whether the artistic building will be restored soon and how it will be preserved for the future.
The young painting talent Fleur Stebis (19) from Assen captured the music dome in the Governor’s Garden in an oil painting in 2021, as a special place in her hometown. The painting was handed over to the municipality in 2022 and is part of the Asser city collection. Stebis transferred the painting to the municipality in return for financial support for her three-year education at the art academy in Florence.
