Computer helps paralyzed woman ‘talk’ again by translating brain signals

Scientists have succeeded in making a completely paralyzed woman ‘talk’ again. They made this known in the American journal ‘Nature’, in which they published their findings. The woman, who is being treated by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), has been given a voice thanks to a digital ‘avatar’ that translates her thoughts into speech and facial expressions via electrodes attached to her head.
