Known as a composer Kaija Saariaho has died at the age of 70. Saariaho’s family announced the matter on social media.
The release states that the composer died on Friday morning at his home in Paris, France. The composer had received a serious diagnosis in February 2021. He was diagnosed with an aggressive glioblastoma, which is a malignant brain tumor.
According to the family, the composer fought the tumor and lived fully until the end.
– Growing tumors did not affect cognitive skills until the final stages, the release states.
The tumors affected the composer’s right motor skills, causing problems with speech and walking.
