Cycling superstar Remco Evenepoel also struck the European Championship in France and secured the title in the individual time trial. The Belgian in the fight against the clock is now the acting Olympic champion, world champion and European champion. A competitor can only be amazed at this.

The Dutchman Daan Hool actually showed a really strong performance at the European Cycling Supreme in France in the individual time trial. Compared to the once more unbeatable Remco Evenepoel, he also went under like the rest of the field. In the end, the Belgian had a whopping 43 seconds ahead of his first pursuer – on a 24 -kilometer route.

What makes this man so unbeatable? “As far as his position is concerned, it could not be better than his position on the bike. And he is also an extremely good driver. That is of course a deadly combination,” amazed Holle in the “In DE unfortunately” interview about the appearance of the time trial dominator.

Evenepoel “practically unbeatable for everyone”

“When Evenepoel drives well, it is practically unbeatable for everyone at the moment,” added the Dutch, who can imagine that this can be “frustrating” especially for the other time trial experts like Filippo Ganna.

What made the race on Wednesday for all drivers, Evenepoel, made so difficult, was the constant waving wind from the north. “We thought it wouldn’t be that bad. But it was really absurd,” complained Hoole about the conditions, which were becoming increasingly difficult, especially in the second half of the race. There the wind whipped in from the side.

Ultimately, Evenepoel was the only driver who had no or only a few problems. “Everything went perfectly,” said the new European champion after the race. “The wind was strong,” said the Belgian, who added with a smile: “But we managed it quite well.”
