Competition for FC Bayern? PSG also want Sasa Kalajdzic

At FC Bayern, Sasa Kalajdzic from VfB Stuttgart is said to be one of the possible successors to Robert Lewandowski. But Paris Saint-Germain is apparently also putting out feelers for the 24-year-old Austrian.

On the last day of the season, Sasa Kalajdzic proved once again how valuable he is for VfB Stuttgart.

The Swabian top scorer missed a penalty in the 12th minute in the “final” against 1. FC Köln. Just 24 seconds later, however, he scored the goal to take the lead 1-0.

Even the equalizer by Anthony Modeste (59th) could not shock VfB. Captain Wataru Endo headed Stuttgart in the second minute of added time to victory and relegation.

Will Sasa Kalajdzic leave VfB Stuttgart?

For Kalajdzic (contract until 2023) it should have been the last game in the jersey with the red chest ring. After 22 goals in 48 Bundesliga games, numerous larger clubs have the two-meter man in their sights.

Kalajdzic is hotly traded at FC Bayern. According to “Bild”, the man from Stuttgart could succeed Robert Lewandowski if he is actually drawn to FC Barcelona in the summer. A transfer fee of a moderate 20 million euros is in the room.

“Financial stability” important at VfB Stuttgart

VfB sports director Sven Mislintat did not rule out a Kalajdzic departure on Sunday. “There hasn’t been a call from FC Bayern yet. But if it comes, I’ll take it, just out of respect for the player.”

He had to think about “the financial stability of the club,” said Mislintat, who added: “The fact is: Sasa still has a contract until 2023 and we are talking to him about an extension.”

Prominent competition for FC Bayern

If this does not happen as expected, according to “kicker” Kalajdzic now has another prominent change option in addition to FC Bayern: Paris Saint-Germain.

Accordingly, the French champions are also trying to get the attacker. The trade magazine names Newcastle United and Benfica as other interested parties.
