Companies that do not only think about survival

– How is the business related to the emotional, Lic. Rocio González?

The success of an organization depends on the decision-making of the people in that organization. We like to believe that we are rational beings, that we first think and then take a course of action. But one of the great recent discoveries shows that moods influence one’s own judgments and decisions, whether or not they are aware of it. People who feel in a bad mood tend to overestimate the existence of negative events and underestimate the frequency of positive events; the opposite happens when they feel happy. This discovery made it possible to leave behind the Cartesian era, of “I think, therefore I am”, prioritizing reason above all else, to move on to the era of neuroscience, where emotions cease to be a hindrance to reason and begin to be considered wise. internal compasses that guide us in what is important and valuable in life. As Sigal Barsade, a great reference in the business field, says, “The emotions of employees are not noise, they are data”. Emotions are information, and we can try to ignore or hide them, but unfortunately that doesn’t work. The key is to learn to incorporate them effectively in decision making. Therefore, emotions at work influence, among other things, when making judgments, job satisfaction, helping others behave, creatively solving problems and making decisions.

– Dr. Eduardo Teragni, as employees, are digital natives a more complicated generation?

Organizations tend to pay attention to the traditional and elementary aspects that frame corporate strategies, the context, customers, competition, threats and other aspects considered essential for their sustainability. But few attend to a critical aspect of managing their human resources and that today represents a severe problem, such as the enormous turnover of personnel that has a strong impact on the performance of collaborators, efficiency and a negative, decisive influence. , in the employer branding of the company.

– What is the main cause that leads to this phenomenon?

A profound decoupling between the organizational structure and the current logic of its employees. They are companies with a traditional structure, based on headquarters, management and leadership that collide with native digital employees and a small number of digital immigrants. Digital natives prioritize effective and collaborative work, efficient management of communication, work by objectives, flexibility and immediacy. For them, dictatorial leadership models are incompatible. Today, they constitute about 75% of the labor force and, while digital immigrants know and accept two business worlds and it is easier to retain them, digital natives only recognize one, have the concept of globalization incorporated and do not share the occupational roots of analog native employees. With the idea of responding to the request of organizations and companies that underwent training in the Educar for Human Development Association and wanted to bring the neuroscientific-based development experience they had received to the corporate world, AE Consultora was born. Specialized in Leadership and Emotional Management, based in Argentina and Uruguay, providing services in 40 countries in person and remotely, “we work for a better society. The current context requires organizations that are creators of work spaces, in which the needs related to the well-being of each human being and the expression of their maximum potential are considered, in order to reach a cultural transformation, in which the individual development of the people go hand in hand with the growth of the organization and its context”, assures Belén Soba Rojo, Director of Training and Development.
