Commodore Ultra Trail: run like on Mars

The competition was held on Sunday February 19 and had 5 distances: 5, 10, 21, 42 and 80 kilometers; and was attended by renowned athletes such as Sofia Cantilo (winner of the 80K women’s overall), lali moratorium (first overall of the women’s 42K) and israel squire.

The competition began at 5:40 a.m., with the start of the 80K meters from the sea, followed by the 42K at 6:40 a.m. with the dawn And then the rest of the distances. And they all started at the entrance of the Rocas Coloradas Protected Natural Area, a little-known place that covers a continental area of ​​587 km2 and a marine area of ​​352 km2. And that, with its reddish and ocher colors, and its imposing rock formations, framed a unique circuit.

There is also the Red Lagoon, the Lunar Valley, the Mount of Meteorites and valuable anthropological and cultural resources. A destination to discover and even more so within the framework of a race that has all the seasonings of terrain, hard and colorful and that closes with the highest peak, the Salamanca Peak (almost 580 masl), from which you have a unique 360º view that has the turquoise sea on one side and mountainous formations on the other.
