The order from the House of Representatives to evacuate everyone who had ever worked for the Netherlands in Afghanistan has made the evacuation operation from Kabul ‘more extensive and complex’. The cabinet, which embraced the widely supported motion, thus created ‘expectations that could hardly or hardly be met’.
