Tonight family and friends commemorated the young victims of the traffic accident from Saturday to Sunday night on Osseweidenweg in Havelte. The mayors of De Wolden and Westerveld were also present.
In Havelte, a 21-year-old man from Dwingeloo and a 16-year-old girl from Koekange died on the main road last weekend. The other passengers, two men aged 18 and 19 from Dwingeloo, were seriously injured. A 16-year-old girl from Ruinerwold was slightly injured.
Many relatives and friends have already visited the site of the accident in recent days. Flowers, candles and cards were placed next to the tree the car hit.
Tonight, about 200 people were present on the Ossenweidenweg to commemorate the victims. The road was closed from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
