It is a pity about the spelling mistake in the title: tree trunk princess is of course one word in Dutch. Furthermore, The Little Wooden Robot and the Trunk Princess, this witty, original and adventurous picture book, is one of the most recommendable of all time. The Scottish cartoonist Tom Gauld turns the fairytale genre upside down and yet tells a completely accessible story.
