Comedian Peter Heerschop in De Kick-off: “I give Ajax a big nine”

Comedians Peter Heerschop and Viggo Waas agree that this Ajax football season is a pretty sad one. Both Amsterdammers are guests tonight in our football talk show De Aftrap. However, the scores they give vary considerably.

Waas regularly sits in the stands in the Arena. “I guide a team at Ajax and then you get a season ticket. Then you have to go,” he says with a wink. He has little confidence that Ajax will play in De Kuip on Sunday the cup final wins against PSV. “I think it will be 2-1.”

King’s kick predicts a 2-2 draw and then a win on penalties. Here the wish seems father to the thought, because Heerschop also sees that everything is wrong with the almost dethroned national champion. “But it is a good drama at Ajax. That is why I would give them a big nine.”

“I’m available and I like talking to those guys in the locker room”

What strikes Heerschop and Waas is that the fun is missing from the current Ajax players. Where the Feyenoord players happily frolic across the field, the Ajax footballers radiate reluctance. They think that needs to change. Heerschop addresses Ajax general manager Edwin van der Sar through the camera to help: “I am available and I like to talk to those guys in the dressing room.”
