US outdoor outfitter Columbia Sportswear Company has appointed Tom Gyles as Senior Vice President, Global Distribution Network.
In this function, among other things, he will be responsible for the group’s own sales structures in wholesale, retail and online trade in North America and Europe, the parent company of the brands Columbia, Sorel, Prana and Mountain Hardwear announced on Friday. His area of responsibility also includes global partnerships with external logistics service providers.
According to his new employer, Gyles has more than twenty years of experience in logistics and distribution. In the last ten years he has worked for well-known clothing companies such as PVH Corporation and Gap Inc.
At Columbia Sportswear, Gyles, who reports directly to Chief Supply Chain Officer Lisa Kulok, will now work closely with the company’s global leadership teams to develop and implement “innovative models to support future business strategy” in the context of “evolving supply chains”.
