Colorful Rebel Spring/Summer 23

The Spring/Summer 2023 Colorful Rebel collection is inspired by a “summer in the city” feel. Due to Covid-19, Colorful Rebel’s Amsterdam-based team has started to look at their own city differently. Nobody could travel abroad, but being locked up in Amsterdam wasn’t the worst option. So the exploration began and never stopped.

The brand did some research on what to wear around town on a hot summer day. They have discovered new materials such as crocheted fabric and satin, large oversized T-shirts that can also be worn as dresses and colorful tops made of flowing viscose fabric. In addition to different textures and silhouettes, the collection also shows a lot of color. It’s in the label’s DNA, as a brand called Colorful Rebel can’t launch a mid-summer collection without colour.

With this collection, the Amsterdam label expresses the love for an oversized, casual and carefree look. Strong inspiration therefore came from men’s styles and silhouettes. Their signature oversized t-shirts and hoodies with large prints are a good example, as they are almost identical to the men’s t-shirts, just a bit smaller. It’s not that far yet, but in the future the brand wants to move more towards unisex designs. They want to use organic cotton, recycled polyester and the like for their clothing as much as possible. The company is very aware that they are fighting against environmental pollution and therefore want to do everything they can to minimize their footprint.
