Colorful and fragrant rice | what are we eating today?

No more boring rice with this easy recipe. This recipe is inspired by Afghan cuisine.

You need:

Side dish for 2 people

  • 150 g brown rice
  • 1 winter carrot
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 2 tbsp almonds
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp honey
  • Oil, salt and pepper

This is how you make it:

Cook the rice as indicated on the package and also cook the raisins. In the meantime, grate the carrot and finely chop the onion. Chop the almonds finely.

Heat some oil in a frying pan and fry the onion and carrot. Once the onion is soft, add cardamom, turmeric and cinnamon and fry for two minutes. Also add honey and stir.

When the rice is done, put it in the frying pan and fry. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
