The Colorado Avalanche crushed Tampa Bay Lightning in the second match of the Stanley Cup final series as high as 7-0 and took the lead 2-0 in the match series.

Avalanche started the first set of dominoes in the match, just like at the opening of the final series the night before Thursday. Admittedly, this time the home team’s grips were even stronger than in the previous attempt.

Avs took the game, and Lightning didn’t get a grip on the game. The reigning champions scored just five shots per goal in the opening round when Avalanche hit a 3-0 score on the board at the same time.

The first hit came from the same duo who plotted Avalanche’s winning goal in the extra time of the first final match.

Avalanche spinning with force André Burakovsky served to the goalkeeper Valeri Nitšuškin, who with a small movement guided the puck past Lightning goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevski for the first time.

Five minutes later, Avalanche was attacked by force. Puck carried Josh Manson ended up shooting himself and the shot went straight into the wings.

Mikko Rantanen was involved in a 3–0 hit when Vasilevski rejected the Finnish bet and Burakosvky snapped from the rebound.

Anemic Lightning

The second batch started where the first batch was. The hosts held their grip, and Lightning was still like a shadow even more.

Lightning’s anemia is reflected in the fact that in the second round, the team only got their first shot towards the goal after just over seven minutes of play.

By this time, Avalanche had already increased its lead to 4-0. Rantanen deprived the puck behind the goal, baited Nitsushkin between the b-points and the Russian was not mistaken.

Avalanche made it through the game on several occasions, reflecting the full spread of Lightning’s game. The hosts also took advantage of these opportunities with a good percentage.

An example of this was seen towards the end of the second installment, when Darren Helm ran away and, like Manson, decided to seek a solution himself. Helmi’s hard bet surprised Vasilevski and the situation was 5-0.

Makar continued to crush

The same expenditure continued in the third tranche. The game clock had time to crackle for just over two minutes after Avs’ star pack of Cale Makar and Andrew Cogliano reached a superior attack on Victor Hedman.

Makar, who was transporting the puck again, fired and the puck sank into the net. The paint was created by undercutting while Rantanen was sitting on an ice seal.

Makar hit the middle of the second hit of the evening with Avs playing with superiority. Nathan MacKinnon played the puck for Rantanen, who fed Lightning through the defense quadrant to Makar, who snatched a 7-0 score on the board.

The brilliant Rantanen snapped a total of three assists in the match. Avalanche’s Finnish driller Artturi Lehkonen was left without points in the match.

The Stanley Cup Finals will now move to Tampa Bay Lightning’s home trough. The third match of the final series will be played on the night before Tuesday in Finnish time.
