The police have arrested a 26-year-old woman from Tilburg after a fatal collision on the Bredaseweg in Tilburg. A 39-year-old man was killed in the accident on New Year’s Day. The arrested woman was behind the wheel.
The car with five occupants crashed into a tree on the Bredaseweg around seven o’clock in the morning. The passengers, two women (26 and 30) and a man (29) from Tilburg, were removed from the vehicle with difficulty and taken to hospital with injuries.
A police spokesperson reported on Tuesday that the female driver had been arrested in hospital. She is suspected of manslaughter and several traffic violations. The police are still awaiting the results of the blood test.
Not much was left of the car, a Tesla, after the accident. In addition to the police and fire brigade, two trauma helicopters and six ambulances were also deployed.
