College of Europe starts Diplomatic Academy

It concerns a training where young diplomats are prepared to represent the interests of the European Union on the world stage. Bruges was in competition with several European capitals to obtain this prestigious education. A maximum of 2 young diplomats are admitted per Member State. Candidates from Ukraine are also eligible. The future top diplomats will live and study together for nine months in the Spanjaardstraat. Those who pass will receive the recognition of Eurodiplomat.

The European Council chose the College of Europe in Bruges because of its good reputation and its proximity to many important institutions in the European capital of Brussels. Paris, The Hague and Berlin also applied to host the European Diplomatic Academy
