Up-and-coming designers and labels asserted themselves alongside established names during Men’s Fashion Month. Combining technical and performance know-how with a sophisticated approach to craftsmanship and a sense of youthful playfulness, it offered an inspiring vision for the future of fashion and the evolution of menswear.

Trendstop offers FashionUnited readers a first look at the key collections of Men’s Fashion Month Spring/Summer 2023.

Amiri

While Amiri’s past is rooted in denimwear, the SS23 collection expands the offering with an exciting technical and color variety. Jacquard patched and washed denim outerwear, shirts and shorts dyed in tones of sea teal and green appear alongside croc-embossed football shirts and vintage sportswear in a heavily sport-inspired presentation. Tassel trims and embroidery details add interesting structure that elevates the sport/street hybrid to the luxe level.

facetism

Focusing on the functional, Hiromichi Ochiai’s foray into the season presents a packable collection of garments designed for outdoor use. He featured lightweight, layerable garments with jungle-inspired pixelated patterns or large-scale logo prints, embellished with zippers, ripstop patchwork and laser-cut holes. Raincoats fold into small bags for easy portability when not in use – the ultimate in practical style.

denzilpatrick

Launched in 2021 by designer Daniel Gayle, the Denzilpatrick collection plays with colors and textures, bringing a youthful twist to classic menswear. Canary yellow brushed yarn cricket sweaters blend summer sports with high-end luxury, while technical satin jackets are worn over suits. Likewise, exploding plaid prints layered with vintage-inspired knitwear reflect Gayle’s expressive take on fusing contemporary techniques with traditional, artisanal production.
