Collboni puts Gay in charge of the social councils and Valls, in the economic ones

The government of Jaume Collboni in it Barcelona’s town hall will have four mayoral tenures, with Laia Bonet in Urbanism and albert batlle back in charge of Security, while Maria Eugenia Gay will lead the social area and Jordi Valls the economy.

The new socialist mayor has signed the first decrees to launch the new municipal government after being invested “in extremis” with the votes of BComú and PP and after the institutional visit of the municipal corporation to the Palau de la Generalitat, which has been received by the Catalan president, Pere Aragonès. The signing has been delayed than expected since Collboni’s investiture was not known until minutes before the plenary session and the documents were not prepared.

Through these first decrees, the initial political and executive structure of the consistory is defined, which will be completed with the full approval of the municipal portfolio in the coming weeks.

The First Deputy Mayor is Laia Bonet, in charge of the area of ​​Ecology, Urbanism, Infrastructures, Mobility, Public Space and Housing.

The second deputy mayor is Maria Eugenia Gaywhich will lead the area of ​​Life Cycles, Social Rights, Culture, Sports, Education and Territorial Coordination.

He third deputy mayor is albert batllewho will direct the area of ​​Prevention, Security, Coexistence and Internal Regime, a portfolio that he already held in the previous municipal government chaired by Ada Colau.

He fourth deputy mayor, Jordi Vallswill assume the area of ​​Economy, Finance and Economic Promotion.

Regarding the districts, the councilor for Ciutat Vella is Albert Batlle, Jordi Valls from Eixample, Raquel Gil from Sants-Montjuïc, David Escudé from Les Corts and Sant Martí, Maria Eugènia Gay from Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Laia Bonet from Gràcia, Lluís Rabell from Horta-Guinardó, Rosa Alarcón from Nou Barris and Marta Villanueva from Sant Andreu.
