Cold Case Pieterjan Bentein: many tips, two names
The thirty-something died in suspicious circumstances and was found next to his bicycle on the Konterdamkaai in Ostend in May 2016. The public prosecutor’s office and the police recently launched a call for witnesses and any tips to solve the case and offer comfort to the family.
“As a result of the broadcast, several tips came in,” says police spokesperson Eline Goeminne. “We are very satisfied with that because it means that we can continue the research. So far, two names have come in. The police are busy linking the names to the facts.”
