Coin promotes Ugo Turi to CEO

The Italian trading group Coin SpA has found its new boss in its own ranks after the departure of Roland Armbruster. On Monday, the department store operator announced the appointment of Ugo Turi as CEO. The experienced manager, who was already a member of the company’s board of directors, will take up the post with immediate effect, according to a statement.

Turi was chosen to lead the retailer “quickly and with a clear vision” and to ensure compliance with the goals set out in the business plan, the company said. “I am grateful to the board of directors for the opportunity given to me. This is a tribute to all the managers who believed in Coin,” the new CEO said in a statement. Now he is striving to “keep the company growing and to help it tackle and realize the new challenging projects that we have in mind”.

According to its own statements, the Coin Group increased its sales by around four percent to 300 million euros in the past financial year. The profit grew accordingly to 20 million euros.
