Coevorden supports the plan for an omni track in Dalen

Dalen would like a course at sports park ‘t Grootveld, where you can go rollerblading, running and cycling. Ultimately, according to the Omnibaan Dalen Foundation, it should even be possible to hold National Championships, European Championships and World Cycling Championships there. This requires a large pot of money and the city council of Coevorden decides tonight that it will look at what kind of subsidy the municipality of Coevorden could give, in addition to advice to the foundation.

Now there is still a go-kart track with (sand) paths that are more or less asphalted behind the fields of VV Dalen. Four sports fanatics from the village dream of turning it into a multifunctional sports facility in the form of an omni track, long enough for official cycling events, about 1600 meters. The Omnibaan Dalen Foundation has had a plan drawn up for this, which was presented to various political parties earlier this year.

The PvdA proposes that a financial springboard for the omni track be considered for the municipal budget for next year. This gives the foundation a better chance of receiving more subsidies from other governments or organisations. The party believes it is important that the job should be for everyone. The money may also have to be used to improve road safety around the sports park.
