Code yellow: so many Dutch people don’t get in their car in snow, rain or storm | Car

Dutch motorists are not fond of code yellow, it turns out. In fact, a representative study by insurer Allianz Direct shows that no fewer than four out of ten motorists become anxious when it snows, storms or rains hard. A quarter leave the car in those weather conditions. In icy conditions and slippery conditions, more than a third are afraid to get into the car.

What is striking is that despite the fear of driving slippery on the road, only 38 percent of people have winter tires, of which 93 percent actually use them. This means that more than 35 percent of cars run on winter tires. Three quarters of the respondents who do not have winter tires indicate that they do not consider this necessary.
