Code yellow for spicy rain showers, risk of flooding

There are a lot of downpours in the coming hours and that is why the KNMI has announced code yellow for our province for Friday afternoon. In the afternoon and evening a lot of rain can fall in a short time, in some places even up to 50 millimeters.

Most rainwater comes down in the western half of the province, meteorologist Raymond Klaassen of Weerplaza expects. This can cause flooding in some places.

This weekend it will get a little better. In the course of Saturday the showers will disappear and the weekend has two faces, says Klaassen. Saturday morning it will be mainly cloudy, with some showers and a chance of thunderstorms. “It will clear up from the southwest during the day, but I would still keep the umbrella handy.” It will be about 20 degrees that day.

Sunday will be a lot better. “A high pressure area is moving over and there is less wind.” There is a mix of cumulus clouds and sun and with 22 to 23 degrees it looks pleasant.

Warm start of the new week
According to Klaassen, the forecasts for Monday also look good. The flow will turn to the southeast on Monday, bringing warmer air in. The sun shines brightly and the temperature can reach 25 degrees. It will probably also stay dry. Tuesday will be a bit more variable. Showers will arrive from the north, but Brabant will be the last to suffer from this.

where, how much can not say exactly, where, concerns showers. we are talking about the next 24 hours, until Saturday afternoon there could be 50 mm in particular in the western half. in a few places, very locally, not everywhere, can cause very local nuisance.
