Code yellow for dense fog: locally poor visibility

The KNMI warns with code yellow until 10 a.m. for poor visibility due to fog. Locally dense fog is possible throughout almost the entire country, resulting in visibility of no more than 200 meters. The fog lifts during the morning.

The fog reduces visibility of the road. The yellow code applies almost everywhere, except in the east of the country. Due to the fog, the KNMI recommends driving slower and keeping more distance from other road users. If visibility is less than 200 meters, the fog lights at the front of the car must be turned on, but this is not necessary at the rear. This is only necessary when visibility is less than 50 meters.

Rijkswaterstaat expects a busy morning rush hour due to the weather conditions. It is the autumn holidays in North Holland, so traffic jams can be minor. Yet it has been stuck in several places in recent days.

It will remain cloudy for the rest of the day and dry for most of the day. “Only towards the end of the afternoon and especially tonight there may be occasional rain or showers,” the weatherman says. It will be 12 degrees today. It will also rain tonight, with a chance of thunder on the coast.

Visser expects slightly better weather tomorrow morning, but it will remain changeable. “There will also be a chance of showers tomorrow, but also some sun now and then.” In the afternoon there is a greater chance of showers and the sun will no longer appear. Tomorrow it will also be about 12 degrees.
