Code yellow because of thunderstorms, but do they just graze Liberation Doll or not?

The KNMI has issued code yellow for thunderstorms that will cross the province this afternoon. The weather alarm applies between 2 and 6 p.m. It will also rain in many places in the province and the wind can be strong. NH weatherman Jan Visser reassures us, it will probably remain as good as dry at Bevrijdingspop.

Those who were awake early this morning may have already seen a flash, because the first thunderstorms have already passed over the province. Those who get up later will not have been bothered by it. “Now the storm is mainly over the border with Germany,” says Jan Visser on NH Radio. “It has cleared up reasonably well for us and it will remain that way this morning.”

There are some clouds in the sky, but this morning the sun comes through regularly and it stays dry for a while.

festivals

“During the festivals, the temperature rises to a level of about 19 degrees,” Visser predicts. “Close to the sea it will be a bit lower.” There will be some showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. “As far as our province is concerned, the emphasis is most on the southeastern part; Amsterdam, Waterland, it also goes a bit to West Friesland and Het Gooi.” According to Visser, it may remain dry along the coast, in the Noordkop and on Texel. The warning from the KNMI, code yellow, does not apply on Texel either.

Jan Visser predicted yesterday that the showers would pass Bevrijdingspop in Haarlem. “The chance that it will stay dry there is quite real,” he says now. “It is a bit of an edge, maybe a tail. But the fiercest showers are still inland.” If you don’t feel like getting wet, it’s a good idea to bring a poncho just in case.

Foggy

Tomorrow the morning can start foggy. “The fog lifts and then we regularly have sun and also some clouds,” says Visser. “It will probably stay dry into the evening.” It will be nice and warm tomorrow: it can be around 20 degrees.
