In the coastal areas today heavy gusts of wind are possible up to 80 kilometers per hour. At the sea and on the IJsselmeer the peaks can rise to around 90 kilometers per hour. The wind comes from the southwest and is expected to decrease tomorrow morning.
The KNMI warns that traffic and outdoor activities can be inconvenienced. Drivers are advised to drive slower and to keep it more distance. Cars with a trailer or caravan and trucks are in particular risk with strong winds.
It also advises KNMI to undertake outdoor activities, especially in the forest, and to stay away from open water.
