After storm Eunice, a new storm is on the way: storm Franklin will again bring heavy gusts of wind. As a result, code yellow again applies in Limburg on Sunday evening and Monday afternoon.
That warning code is also in effect for almost the rest of the country. Code yellow means people should be alert, because there is a chance of dangerous weather. Code orange is in effect in the western coastal provinces.
Storm
According to the KNMI, the wind will pick up again during the day on Sunday. The first peak is at the beginning of Sunday evening with wind gusts in Limburg of 75 to 90 kilometers per hour. Later in the evening, that could even increase to gusts of wind of 100 kilometers per hour. Meteo Limburg reports that in addition to the wind, there is also a chance of showery rain with hail and thunderstorms.
In the coastal areas, the wind may be even stronger with gusts of 120 kilometers per hour. According to the KNMI, this could cause local damage. Due to the wind between 20:00 on Sunday evening and 04:00 on Monday morning, code yellow applies in Limburg.
