Coca-Cola’s Christmas truck schedule in 2022

On December 3, Coca-Cola’s Christmas truck will start its Finnish tour from Helsinki’s Rautatietor, according to Coca-Cola’s press release.

From Helsinki, the truck continues to seven other locations: Turku, Tampere, Jyväskylä, Joensuu, Savonlinna, Kotka and Porvoo.

The Coca-Cola Christmas truck was first seen in Coca-Cola’s Christmas commercial in the 90s and since 1995 in television commercials.

Over the years, the 19-meter Christmas truck decorated with 11,000 LED lights has grown into a phenomenon that attracts long queues. The Coca-Cola Christmas truck seen in Finland is a rare Kenworth VW900A Yankee truck or similar. 1978. The truck has been in Finland since the 80s.

At the event, you can get to know the Christmas truck from the outside and take a picture of yourself next to it. This year, eight people also have the opportunity to take a look at what the inside of the truck looks like.

Tampere, Savonlinna, Kotka and Porvoo will get a Christmas truck for the first time. Joulurekka arrives in Helsinki for the second time in tour history. The last time was in 2018, when the capital city was the first Coca-Cola Christmas truck event location in Finland’s tour history.

The handsome Santa figure on the side of the Christmas truck is Finnish Haddon Sundblomin Drawn in the 1930s. Sundblom’s father was from Åland. The character he created has shaped the perception of Santa Claus internationally.

Joulurekka has attracted tens of thousands of Finns every year of its tour. This year too, it is likely that the number of visitors will be large and it is good to be prepared for traffic jams. Those arriving at the place should prefer public transport and leave the car in other parking places.

At the Christmas truck event in Helsinki, Jyväskylä and Tampere, it is possible to bring charity gifts to the venue. Charity organization Hope distributes gifts to needy families in their area. Gifts should be unwrapped so that the right kind of gifts find their way to the right destination. Hope delivers the gifts with packaging materials to the families.
