“Karate Kid” actor and “Cobra Kai” star Martin Kove had to leave a fan convention at the weekend after he is said to have bitten co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim during a VIP meeting. This emerges from a report by the Puyallup Police Department.
According to the report, the incident occurred on Sunday at Summer Con in Puyallup, Washington. Kove and Hannah-Kim, both actors in the Netflix series “Cobra Kai”, were there to meet fans of the series.
“That was just fun”-Kove defends itself after a bite allegation
According to the report, Hannah-Kim described a security employee present that she typed Martin Kove on the shoulder as a greeting. Then he suddenly grabbed her on her arm and “bitten so tightly that it almost bleed”. When she shouted out loudly, Kove started kissing the previously bitten arm.
The actress then informed her husband, who was also present. Together they confronted Kove with the incident. According to the report, the 78-year-old is said to have become loud and have angrily reacted-with words like: “How can you dare to tackle me like this?”
Hannah-Kim and her husband then asked security for help to de escalate the situation. Martin Kove told the official that he only wanted to be a “fun” – after all, on the set of “Cobra Kai” they would often argue.
Hannah-Kim emphasized that she did not want to file a complaint, but had the incident documented if there are further incidents. Kove was then asked to leave the event. The local officials pointed out to refrain from such behavior in the future.
Martin Kove became known for his role as John Kreese in the classic film “Karate Kid” from 1984 and also embodied the character in the two sequels and in the “Cobra Kai” series, which ran on Netflix for six.
